Visor Care

IMPORTANT: It is absolutely essential that you keep the visor in optimum condition at all times. Deterioration through scratches and road debris such as insects and general road film can seriously reduce clear vision and increase the risk of causing an accident with the potential for serious injury to yourself and other road users.

In order to maintain the visors optimum condition, you should clean it regularly. WARNING: NEVER ATTEMPT TO CLEAN THE VISOR WHILE RIDING YOUR MOTORCYCLE. ALWAYS STOP FIRST.

Your KBC helmet comes with an operating tab to the left hand side of the visor. This tab allows easy operation with a gloved hand. Always use this tab to operate the visor opening function. This is the quickest and safest method of operation. Do not open the visor while riding at high speed as damage to the helmet or an accident may occur.

Clean the visor only with clean, lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Never use solvents or chemicals. Only use approved cleaning products designed for visors. Always use a very soft lint free cloth and rub gently. Never use a dry cloth to clean the visor, only immediately after cleaning should you gently buff dry the visor.

When servicing your helmet, use a silicone or petroleum jelly (Vaseline) in small quantities to provide a small degree of lubrication to moving parts. CAUTION: do not put it on the visor as this can reduce clear vision.

Iridium or Mirrored visors: Due to the technology used in the manufacturing of mirror or iridium coated visors, these visors scratch or damage more easily than clear visors. Therefore these visors must be cleaned with even greater care.

IMPORTANT: Light smoke, dark smoke, tinted and iridium/mirrored visors should never be used at night or in inclement weather where visibility is poor, as these visors are designed only for very bright riding conditions.
WARNING: CHECK THE LEGALITY OF THESE VISORS IN YOUR COUNTRY, AS IN SOME COUNTRIES THESE ARE ILLEGAL).
